In fall of 2008 Summerfield Health Care Center completed a $250,000 renovation. The refurbishment included new carpeting in the halls, reconfigurement of the lobby which included creating a resident coffee nook and relocating the nurses station, replacement of flooring in various areas, extensive painting, and the purchase of new equipment. The interiors improvements followed exterior work that was completed the year before. Exterior improvements consisted of re-pavement of the guest parking lot, painting, and landscaping.

The renovations complement the simultaneous customization of each resident's room. Administrator, Londa Couch and her staff worked with each resident to pick out new colors and select matching wallpaper. There is a papaya, mango, and forest green room as well as many others. Residents are encouraged to further customize their home by bringing in personal items like furniture and art for the walls.
