Planetree Continuing Care supports the relationships that sustain a healthy and meaningful life for residents and their caregivers. A Planetree community nurtures the body, mind and spirit of all of its members. Regardless of whether an individual comes for a short-term stay or as a permanent resident, a Planetree community provides the support and comforts associated with feeling “at home.”

A Planetree community offers a range of options to support an individual's autonomy, lifestyle, and interests. There are opportunities for personal growth, self-expression, and spiritual fulfillment. Wellness programs include exercise, stress management and a variety of healing modalities that are responsive to individual interests.

Planetree Continuing Care supports the involvement of family and friends in providing care and empowers individuals by providing information and education. Planetree recognizes the nutritional and nurturing aspects of food and the healing benefits of an attractive physical environment. Nature, art, music, and space for meditation and prayer are incorporated into this environment.

Since its founding in 1978 as a nonprofit organization, Planetree has been a pioneer in humanizing the hospital experience for patients and their families. In 2003, United Methodist Homes began a collaboration with Planetree to develop the Planetree Continuing Care Model at Wesley Village. The benefits of implementing the Planetree approach for residents and their caregivers are felt everyday at Wesley Village.
