Touring a Senior Living Community

As one ages, the thought of moving into a new home can be daunting. This needn’t be the case. These days senior living communities offer activities, trips, transportation, on-site health services and medical staff, nutrition and dining services, and varied design options to cater to one’s needs and much more.

When the time comes to start your search for the right community, it is important to tour several communities and make sure the services offered meet the specific needs of the individual. While activities may be the primary concern for one person, health and wellness services may be most important for another.

So, how do you separate each community you’re considering in order to make the best and most informed decision? We have created a downloadable resource that can help you in the decision making process. Included are popular questions to ask when touring a senior living community, the importance of the questions being asked and even a printable checklist for the next time you are touring a facility.

Moving into a senior living community is a big decision for you and your family. Be sure you’re fully prepared to make the best choice possible regarding the future.

About Elizabeth Bemis

In 1998, I drove past an assisted living community construction site, learned that it was part of United Methodist Homes and realized the next stop on my professional journey was to work for a mission driven organization. Soon after, I joined the team as Executive Director of our Middlewoods of Farmington community and later served as Regional Manager for the Middlewoods properties before accepting my current role as Vice President of Marketing, Promotions, and Assisted Living Operations. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, walking, and love working alongside our staff, residents, and families to build strong communities that reflect the mission, vision, and values of United Methodist Homes.

Our Blog is a 2016 Platinum Generations Award Winner! The Generations Award is an annual international competition for excellence in senior marketing recognizing professionals who have communicated to the 50+ Mature Markets.
