A 60-day trial stay offers your loved one the perfect chance to “try it out” before making a decision to move from their home.

Especially during the cold winter months, a trial stay allows your loved one to escape the worries of the treacherous weather, unsafe driving conditions, and social isolation, providing you, the caregiver, with much-needed peace of mind.

These are the some of the practical benefits of our 60-day trial stay…..learn why you and your loved one may want to give us a try!

Practical Benefits of Our 60-Day Trial Stay

No Permanent Decision

Often we hear caregivers of prospective residents share about the struggle to get a loved one to understand that it’s TIME to make a move.

Without closing any doors, mom or dad gets a chance to experience a maintenance-free lifestyle without making a committed decision to move in.

The important point is: A temporary move-in period puts the control back into the hands of your loved one, who then has the freedom to decide if this lifestyle provides a quality of life worth having.

1. Residents Get to Know What Senior Living Is and Is Not

Senior living communities provide a system of support for older adults.

Unlike having a single caregiver who attends to the needs of your loved one in their own home, assisted living communities provide a staff of caregivers to meet the multiple, changing needs of your loved one. These caregivers can provide assistance with your loved one’s daily routine (help getting dressed, taking a shower, managing medications), while also providing meals, laundry services, transportation, activities, housekeeping, maintenance, and companionship.

Residents get to experience the “real deal” of what life is! They can try the food, get involved in activities, take advantage of the services and amenities, and put our customer service and caring staff to the test!

2. Throughout the 60-days, Residents Can Form Friendships

A feeling of belonging is important to all of us. With our 60-day trial stay, residents have the opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors and step out of a life of social isolation. Living alone at home can remind your loved one how lonely they feel, while community life can provide the chance to engage with others while enjoying, connection, camaraderie, and friendship. Your loved one will be able to quickly build relationships with other residents and staff. These relationships will help your loved one feel connected to the community and realize the importance of meaningful human interactions in their lives.

3. Residents Have Time and Freedom to Explore Their New Living Space

Residents who choose to try out our 60-day stay benefit from the time and freedom they have to explore their new living space. Learning to navigate around the community with the help of a friend allows residents to feel less anxious, more comfortable and secure in their new environment. When a resident moves in to the community, they are warmly welcomed by residents who kindly show them the way around and invite them to activities. This provides an “orientation” of sorts to the new resident and eases their fears of getting lost or feeling lonely.

Before long, residents are able to find their way to and from their apartment and other gathering spaces, and are gradually adjusting to the daily routine, feeling more and more at home.

4. Maintenance-Free Living Means Less Stress for You and Your Loved One!

During our 60 day stay, many residents find they especially enjoy the benefits of maintenance-free living. For most residents, it’s easy to get used to having someone else do your housekeeping, fold your laundry, prepare your meals, and serve as your chauffeur. After 60-days of enjoying the services and amenities of the assisted living lifestyle, residents would agree that returning home to manage their own household chores and responsibilities would be quite a burden. With less to manage at home, your loved one will be able to take full advantage of activities and pastimes they enjoy. Maintenance-free living means less stress for both you and your loved one….a practical benefit that can improve your health and attitude.
