As we enjoy Independence Day, it’s important to remember that this day is SO much more than just a day off from work. Since 1776, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence.
This national holiday is a symbol of patriotism and pride for all Americans, and while you enjoy your backyard barbecue, beach day, or fireworks, it’s important to remember who helped get us to where we are today – our veterans.
American veterans have risked their lives, and in many cases, given up their lives, fighting for the United States. Their recollections are very important to our history and I urge you to listen to their story and hear their tales because these are the people who have given their all to ensure the safety, independence and greatness of our nation.
This year, we wanted to share with you a few of the stories our residents have from their time serving in the military. To think of what these men and women went through is incredibly impressive and inspiring…we encourage you to take a look for yourself!
