My journey into the world of senior living began when I started working for United Methodist Homes in 2010. Starting as an Activities Director at one of our-winning assisted and independent living communities and then transitioning to Marketing and Promotions Manager for UMH, I now work as the Manager of Mission Development, fostering the Mission and Values of our organization. I love sharing stories about the many ways we build meaningful relationships and enrich the lives of those we serve, and am proud to be part of building UMH’s 140-year legacy of caring. Middlewoods Residents Have a Ball at the Senior Prom

Farmington, CT (July 25, 2016) - Staff and residents danced the night away at Middlewoods of Farmington’s recent Senior Prom, a gala event organized this past June at the assisted living community. Enjoying the songs that were played during their own senior prom many years ago, residents reminisced about their younger years, reliving wonderful memories of times past. Middlewoods resident, Cal Kaiser, enjoyed the event immensely. “It sure felt good to shed 75 years and dance to the music of those great orchestras from the 1940s and 50s,” Kaiser shared. “It was refreshing to see so many ladies all dolled up with their formal dresses. Everyone had a marvelous time!”

Vendors Wanted for 2016 Wesley Village Craft Fair and TEAM Festival of Trees

Shelton, CT (July 6, 2016) – Wesley Village, a campus of senior living communities located at 580 Long Hill Avenue in Shelton, CT, is seeking vendors for their annual Wesley Village Craft Fair and TEAM Festival of Trees. The fair is being held Saturday, November 19th and Sunday, November 20th, from 10am – 3pm each day. If you are looking for a well-attended event in which to sell your special crafts, we have 8’ tables available for $50 a day. Wesley Village Celebrates Centenarians

Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center Featured in Leading Age Member Showcase

Shelton, CT (June 20, 2016) - Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing and rehab facility on the Wesley Village Campus in Shelton, was recently featured in the “Being the Difference” Leading Age Member Showcase for the unique ways it is making a difference in the lives of older adults. Seven senior care providers from across the state were featured in the showcase and invited to highlight their impact to attendees at the Leading Age Connecticut Expo. The expo, held at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville this past May, included over 500 attendees.

Middlewoods of Newington Wins “Best of Newington” Award Three Years in a Row!

Middlewoods of Newington Independent and Assisted Living Community was the proud recipient of another “Best of Newington” award for the third year in a row. Voted “Best Senior Care Provider” in the Newington Chamber of Commerce’s “Best of Newington” Awards, the community was acknowledged at the NCC’s 71st Annual Meeting and 3rd Annual “Best of Newington” Awards Dinner. The event was held on June 3rd at Indian Hill Country Club in Newington and featured several other Chamber awards.
