Wesley Village Halloween 5K and Fun Walk – A Race for All Generations!

News

wesley village road raceShelton, CT (November 2, 2015) - On Saturday, October 24th, Wesley Village hosted their 7th annual 5k and Fun Walk on their senior living campus on Long Hill Avenue in Shelton, CT. Truly a “Race for All Generations,” the event boasted over 300 total participants, 33 of which were over the age of 70, with the oldest runner age 93! All participants (some in costume) crossed the finish line at the front entrance of Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center, to the roaring cheers of dozens of Wesley Village residents, staff, volunteers, and family members.

The 5K Run featured a flat out and back course sponsored by C.E. Floyd Company, along with a 1-Mile Fun Walk sponsored by M&T Bank and a Kids Run, sponsored by Merit Insurance. The community event was coordinated with the help of JB Sports Event Management. Race festivities were hosted across the beautiful Wesley Village Campus and included trick-or-treating, face painting, a bounce house, music, food, Rita’s Italian Ice, and a trophy and awards ceremony. Proceeds from the race benefitted award-winning resident programs at Wesley Village.

Wesley Village would like to thank the many local sponsors and participants who helped to make this year’s race a huge success!
