We are delighted to share some exciting news with you! Christian Negron, a member of the Middlewoods of Newington team, has been selected by the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA) as a 2017 award winner. Christian Negron was honored at the 22nd Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner and presented the 2017 Humanitarian Award. This award is presented to one individual whose personal integrity, decency, and contributions to the elderly best exemplify the ideals of CALA and who serves as an inspiration to all.
Middlewoods of Newington Independent and Assisted Living Community was the proud recipient of another “Best of Newington” award for the fourth year in a row. Residents of the local community cast ballots and chose this award-winning community as the “Best Senior Care Provider” in Newington. At the Chamber of Commerce’s “Best of Newington” Annual Awards Dinner, held at the Indian Hill Country Club, Middlewoods was acknowledged and received this prestigious award.

There's no doubt we have a great time at our UMH communities. We make sure our residents have the opportunity to be as engaged and entertained as possible. And anniversary parties are no exception! This year, our Middlewoods of Newington community celebrated their 14th anniversary by hosting a Brazilian Carnaval themed celebration for residents, family members and staff. This colorful and exciting event was a huge hit!
Renovations are underway at Middlewoods of Newington Assisted and Independent Living Community in preparation for the addition of nearly 5,000 square feet of new community space. The 2.5 million dollar renovation project, supervised by the CE Floyd Company and designed by EDM, will add studio suite and one-bedroom apartments, a beautiful new country kitchen and great room, a state-of-the art fitness and therapy center, and expanded offices for UCONN physicians.
Middlewoods of Newington Assisted and Independent Living Community is the proud recipient of two prestigious Connecticut Assisted Living Association Awards (CALA), including one “Young Leader of the Year” award and one Best Practices award in the category of Managed Residential Services. The awards were presented at CALA’s 18th Annual Meeting and Awards Program held at The Aqua Turf Club in Southington on Wednesday, December 4th.
